When you speak with people who know Camille Wallace, one thing becomes clear very quickly. Her career has never been about titles. It has always been about service.

Camille Wallace, Esquire, currently serves as the Deputy City Manager for the City of Fort Pierce, but her journey through public service has been shaped by a deep commitment to strengthening communities and creating opportunities for others.

Before taking on her current leadership role, Wallace served as the Deputy Director of Neighborhood Services for the City of Port St. Lucie, where she worked directly with programs that helped improve neighborhoods, connect residents with resources, and support families throughout the community.

Her work has always centered on people.

Leadership Built Through Community

Those closest to Camille often describe her as someone who approaches challenges with courage and confidence. Her daughter, Camryne Washington, shared that one of the things that inspires her most about her mother is her willingness to embrace new opportunities without hesitation.

Watching her mother build a career has been inspiring.

Camryne explained that the path was not always straight, but that never stopped her from continuing to grow and evolve professionally. What stood out the most was her mother’s ability to remain authentically herself while navigating leadership roles that often require difficult decisions and constant responsibility.

That authenticity has helped shape the leader she is today.

A Passion for Community

Camille Wallace’s dedication to community service can be seen in the way she leads and the organizations she continues to support.

She currently serves on the 2025 to 2026 Board of Directors for United Way of St. Lucie and Okeechobee, an organization that works to address some of the most pressing issues facing local families including education, financial stability, and health resources.

Her work also extends into civic leadership through the Junior League of Martin County, where she currently serves as Co Chair of the State Public Affairs Committee, also known as SPAC. In the coming year she will step into the role of Chair, continuing to advocate for policies and programs that support communities across the region.

These leadership roles reflect her belief that meaningful change happens when people are willing to step forward and take responsibility for improving the communities around them.

A Career Rooted in Service

Throughout her professional journey, Wallace has consistently gravitated toward roles where she could make a tangible impact on people’s lives.

Her time with Port St. Lucie’s Neighborhood Services Department placed her at the center of programs designed to improve quality of life in neighborhoods throughout the city. These initiatives often involve partnerships with nonprofits, community organizations, and residents to address issues such as housing stability, neighborhood safety, and access to social services.

Today, as Deputy City Manager for Fort Pierce, her leadership continues to influence the direction of the city while helping guide programs that support residents and strengthen the community.

The Strength That Holds Us Together

The Strength That Holds Us Together is often found in leaders who quietly dedicate themselves to building stronger communities.

Camille Wallace represents that kind of leadership.

Her career reflects a willingness to take on new challenges, serve in meaningful ways, and remain focused on the people and communities that depend on thoughtful leadership.

For those who know her best, including her daughter, her work is more than a profession. It is a reflection of who she is.

A leader who steps forward when the community needs it most.
