Some people uplift a community by recognizing a need and stepping forward to meet it. Jaylah Fuller is one of those people.

Across South Florida, Jaylah has become known as someone deeply committed to education, mentorship, and literacy. Her work reflects a belief that when young people are given the tools to read, learn, and grow, entire communities become stronger.

In 2020, Jaylah co founded Read Pompano alongside her father, Corey Fuller. Together they created a literacy initiative focused on helping children strengthen their reading skills while encouraging a love for learning at an early age.

What began as a shared vision between a father and daughter quickly became an effort that brought families, volunteers, and educators together around a common goal. Through Read Pompano, the Fullers have worked to make literacy more accessible while reminding young students that education can open doors that might otherwise remain closed.

Building Literacy and Opportunity

Literacy remains one of the strongest predictors of long term academic success, yet many communities continue to face challenges when it comes to access to educational support and resources.

Through Read Pompano, Jaylah Fuller has helped address that challenge by encouraging reading and building confidence in young learners. The program focuses on creating an environment where students feel supported as they develop the academic foundation that will carry them forward.

Efforts like these do more than improve reading skills. They help young people believe in their own potential.

A Commitment to Education

Jaylah’s dedication to education is reflected not only in the programs she helps lead, but also in her own academic journey.

She earned her Associate Degree in Business from Broward College in 2018 and later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching from Florida Atlantic University in 2024. Her continued commitment to learning mirrors the message she shares with the students she mentors every day.

Her work within Broward County elementary and secondary education has allowed her to connect directly with students while helping them navigate both academic and personal challenges.

Mentorship Through Service

Beyond literacy initiatives and the classroom, Jaylah has remained active in mentoring youth through organizations that support student development.

She has served as a Homework Coach with the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County, helping students stay focused on their schoolwork while providing encouragement and guidance.

Her leadership also extends into her faith community where she serves as Music Director and Youth Leader at the Church of the Lord Jesus. Through that role she continues to mentor young people while encouraging them to develop confidence, discipline, and purpose.

What makes Jaylah Fuller’s work so meaningful is the way she approaches service. Her efforts are not about recognition but about making sure young people have the opportunities and support they need to succeed.
