Fort Pierce came alive this Juneteenth, and at the heart of it all was none other than Kayy Love, whose powerful performance transformed the celebration into a full-blown cultural movement. Backed by the electrifying Derek Mack Band, Kayy Love didn’t just take the stage—she owned every second of it, leaving no doubt why she continues to rise as one of the most impactful performers on the Treasure Coast.

From the moment she walked out, the energy shifted. Her voice—raw, emotional, and unshakably strong—cut through the air like truth set to music. Each song was a celebration in itself, an invitation for the crowd to dance, sing, and remember the weight and meaning of Juneteenth. Her connection with the audience was real, electric, and impossible to ignore.

It’s not just that Kayy Love can sing—it’s that she sings with purpose. Every lyric hits, every note lands. She’s not up there just performing—she’s telling our stories, lifting our spirits, and giving voice to generations. As the music soared, open spaces turned into dance floors, and strangers became family through rhythm and movement.

A Celebration Rooted in Culture

While Kayy Love’s performance was the heartbeat of the event, the City of Fort Pierce went all in to make this Juneteenth unforgettable. Attendees explored the rich history of Black artists at the A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery, with tours of the Highwaymen exhibit paying tribute to the legendary painters who dared to express beauty in a segregated America.

Kids lined up for free haircuts provided by the ever-dedicated Treasure Coast Barbers United, who didn’t stop there—they also released a special Juneteenth edition of ACE Magazine, highlighting local heroes and capturing the spirit of the day in print.

Food, Family, and Fort Pierce Flavor

The celebration was a feast in every sense of the word. Local food trucks came out in full force, offering some of the best food the Treasure Coast has to offer—BBQ, Caribbean plates, soul food favorites, and more. The aroma alone was enough to make you smile, but the real joy came in breaking bread with neighbors, sharing stories, and watching kids dance barefoot in the grass while Kayy Love’s voice rang out across the city.

Kayy Love: A Voice That Moves the People

More than a singer, Kayy Love is a force in the community. Her performance wasn’t about ego—it was about elevation. She elevated the moment. She elevated the meaning of Juneteenth. And she elevated Fort Pierce with every note.

Her presence reminds us that art has power, and when it’s fueled by love, history, and authenticity—it changes people. That’s exactly what she did.

A Community That Shows Up for Itself

Juneteenth in Fort Pierce wasn’t just an event—it was a declaration. It said, We are here. We are proud. We are unified.

Thanks to Kayy Love, the Derek Mack Band, Treasure Coast Barbers United, and countless organizers and vendors who brought their best—Fort Pierce showed once again what makes this city special: a community that moves together, celebrates together, and uplifts each other.
