Marquan Burgess becomes the first Fort Pierce athlete celebrated with this kind of event
There was a different kind of energy inside Hibbett in Fort Pierce this past weekend.
As family members, teammates, supporters, and members of the community packed the store, the excitement surrounding Marquan Burgess could be felt the moment people walked through the doors. For many of the youth in attendance, this wasn’t just another event. It was the first time they were seeing an athlete from Fort Pierce celebrated in this way while still living out the journey.
That’s what made the moment special.
Marquan Burgess, a senior standout from Fort Pierce Central High School, officially held his trading card event at Hibbett in Fort Pierce, becoming the first athlete from the city to receive this kind of recognition through the growing partnership between Hibbett, Positivity Pays, and Kayy Love Management.
The Marquan Burgess trading card event filled Hibbett with excitement
From the moment the event began, people continued pouring into the store to support Burgess and celebrate everything he accomplished this past season.
Parents stood proudly alongside teammates. Young athletes watched closely as Marquan greeted supporters, took pictures, and connected with members of the community who came out specifically to show love.
The atmosphere inside the store never slowed down.
What stood out most was the excitement from the younger kids who attended. For many of them, seeing someone from their own city receive this level of support made the dream feel real. It showed them that their accomplishments matter too and that the community is beginning to recognize local talent in a bigger way.
Marquan Burgess turned one season into a statement
Burgess earned the moment.
In just one season at Ft. Pierce Central, he broke all time receiving records while earning recognition that placed attention on both his athletic ability and work ethic. Known for his high football IQ and team first mentality, Burgess quickly became one of the most talked about athletes in the area.
His accomplishments include:
Heisman
AwardESPN Top 63
All Star MVPTop Pick for FACA
All Time Receiving Record Holder
Off the field, Burgess maintained a 3.1 GPA while making honor roll all four quarters and plans to continue his education in Sports Management.

What made the event even more meaningful was what it represented for the city as a whole.
For years, Fort Pierce has produced talented athletes, artists, and young leaders, but moments like this have not always existed locally. Events like the Marquan Burgess trading card event are helping shift that by giving athletes visibility and support while they are still building their stories.
Kayla Turner, founder of Kayy Love Management, previously stated,“We’re working on changing things. The talent has always been here. The difference now is we’re making sure it gets seen, supported, and taken seriously.”
That vision was visible throughout the entire event.
The Marquan Burgess trading card event represented more than football
By the end of the afternoon, it was clear this event had become bigger than a single athlete.
It became a moment that reflected pride in the city, belief in local youth, and what can happen when businesses and organizations invest directly into the community.
For the young athletes walking through Hibbett that day, the message was clear:
Fort Pierce talent deserves to be seen.
