Jahral Redefines Craft Culture and Consistency in Modern Hip Hop

In a music industry that shifts with every trend, longevity still matters. Jahral represents something increasingly rare which is growth without compromise.

With more than twenty years in the music industry, Jahral has evolved from a teenage lyricist into a platinum certified engineer and gold certified producer. His journey is not built on shortcuts or viral moments. It is built on discipline, apprenticeship, and a deep understanding of sound.

From TAG to Jahral A Name Rooted in Identity

Before the industry knew him as Jahral, he recorded under the name TAG. The change was not about attention. It was about alignment. Jahral is a phonetic Caribbean spelling of his real name, honoring his roots and grounding his artistry in identity.

He began writing at fourteen years old, sharpening his pen through freestyling and battling. Over time, his curiosity expanded beyond lyrics. He wanted to understand how records were constructed. How drums cut through a mix. How vocals sat in a track. How emotion translated from the studio to the listener.

From Artist to Engineer to Producer

Self taught in the early years, Jahral immersed himself in recording and mixing. That dedication led him to intern under Eddie Mashal, the engineer behind Hotel California by The Eagles. Learning from an analog era engineer provided something many modern creatives never receive which is technical discipline and respect for process.

He later interned at South Beach Studios, contributing to sessions connected to artists such as The Weeknd, Young Jeezy, and Pharrell Williams. Being present in those rooms sharpened both his ear and his execution.

Platinum and Gold Credentials That Speak Clearly

Jahral’s work carries certified recognition.

He is a platinum certified engineer for Arms Around You by XXXTentacion and Lil Pump featuring Maluma and Swae Lee.

He is a gold certified producer for I’m A Star by YNW Melly.

He is also part of a Grammy winning, multi platinum production collective working across Hip Hop, R and B, Reggae, and Pop. That versatility reflects range without losing authenticity.

Organic Growth in a Pay to Play Industry

Without paid promotion, his records have generated more than sixteen thousand Instagram Reels, over six hundred thousand Spotify streams, and more than two hundred thousand YouTube views. That type of traction signals connection rather than marketing.

Listeners are choosing the music because it resonates.

Returning to Boom Bap With Intention

Although he has worked across multiple genres, Jahral’s current focus returns to boom bap. This is not nostalgia. It is foundation.

Boom bap values lyricism, raw drums, texture, and honesty. In a digital era driven by algorithms and fast cycles, returning to that core sound feels intentional. Jahral is not chasing what is popular. He is reinforcing what built the culture.

Teaching the Next Generation

Beyond certifications and credits, Jahral invests in education. Through YouTube and social media, he breaks down music production, mixing, and engineering techniques for young creators who may not have access to formal training.

He shares process. He shares mistakes. He shares knowledge.

Jahral represents a rare blend of artist, engineer, producer, and mentor. He respects the craft, understands the culture, and continues to build with consistency at the center of everything he creates.
