Rising Star Malachi Davis
Rising Star Malachi Davis

When you talk about raw talent, discipline, and purpose in youth sports, Malachi Davis is a name that deserves recognition. Hailing from Fort Pierce, Florida, this young golfer’s journey began at the St. Lucie County Boys & Girls Club, where his potential was first spotted through the First Tee program, an initiative that introduces youth to the game of golf while instilling life-enhancing values.

What started as a swing at a local course has turned into national recognition and opportunities that some golfers only dream of. Malachi’s story is proof of what happens when mentorship, community, and passion meet purpose.

A Coach Saw His Swing — The World Is Now Watching

Malachi's introduction to golf wasn’t just luck — it was timing and talent meeting the right support system. A coach from the First Tee program noticed his natural swing and eagerness to learn. He took Malachi to Fairwinds Golf Course, where he was introduced to the larger First Tee network and connected with Willie Scott, the leader of BOTG (Building Opportunities Through Golf).

From that moment on, Malachi’s journey accelerated. Through BOTG, he began traveling to participate in elite youth golf events, museum tours, and leadership workshops that extended far beyond the golf course.

Ball Catcher, Scorecard Runner, and a Name to Watch

Malachi has served as a ball catcher for pro golfers at TLG tournaments, learning directly from top-tier talent. His experiences have brought him face-to-face with golf icons like Tiger Woods and Billy Horschel, offering him a front-row seat to what excellence in the sport looks like.

He’s currently sponsored by Mizuno, a major milestone that not only validates his potential but equips him with world-class gear to match his world-class ambition.

Most recently, Malachi was selected for the Game Changers First Tee trip to Minnesota, where he spent five days playing golf, attending workshops, and networking with fellow rising athletes. Up next, he’s headed to Atlanta for another major event, where he’ll serve as a scorecard runner — with the potential for television coverage.

Beyond the Clubs and Courses

Malachi Davis isn’t just a young man who plays golf. He’s a reflection of what can happen when community investment, youth development, and visionary programs like BOTG and First Tee come together to lift a child up. He’s been with BOTG for two years now, and his continued involvement only opens more doors.

He’s not just playing the game — he’s learning its culture, its leadership demands, and its history. Malachi’s journey is shaping him into not just a competitive athlete but a community ambassador and future role model for kids who don’t always get to see themselves in country clubs or on golf networks.

The Power of Representation and Opportunity

From Fort Pierce to Minnesota and back again, Malachi Davis is proof that golf doesn’t have to be exclusive. With the right eyes on the right talent, the next generation of champions will look more like the communities too often left out of the sport. As Malachi’s star rises, so does the hope for kids walking into Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, wondering if they’ll get their shot.

Thanks to his talent, his mentors, and the organizations pouring into him, Malachi Davis is turning that “maybe” into “definitely.”
